“Willow Wish is a great cause.“
We are Soraya and Daniel Medina. We moved from New York City a little over three years ago to pursue our dream of opening our organic bakery and starting a new life here in Arizona.
At that time we did not have health insurance. As we were doing our research we found out that almost all insurance considers being pregnant is a pre-existing condition. Which is ridiculous! The insurance who did accept us would not cover any of the maternity care. We also found out about small business insurance, but that would have been almost $2,000.00 a month, which we could not afford.
After speaking to our doctor from our birthing center, Blossom Birth and Wellness Center, she mentioned the Willow Wish gift program. We decided to give it a try and see if we got lucky.
A few weeks later we found out we won. We were so excited and thankful! The gift helped us so much since everything we were paying was out of pocket. Owning a small business can be hard, especially since we just started out. Everything that comes in goes right back out.
Willow Wish is a great cause. It helps families like us continue to move forward with our birthing plan. We are so happy that programs like this exist. It goes to show you that people care and help those who are in need.
A Little Note from the Willow Wish Fundraising Team:
Our #GivingTuesdayWish is to raise $6000 – $2000 from our community, $2000 from our matching sponsors, and $2000 from Facebook.
- Giving Tuesday is on December 3, 2019.
- It is the Tuesday after U.S. Thanksgiving in the United States and was conceived as a movement to promote charitable giving at the beginning of the holiday season.
